These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Glór platform at glor.online, operated by Glór Participation Software Limited (“Glór”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company registered in Ireland.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or using the Glór platform in any capacity (including as a participant), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
2. Service Description
Glór is a real-time audience engagement platform that enables presenters to create and run live polls, Q&A sessions, quizzes, and other interactive features. Participants join events via a code or link without needing to create an account.
3. Institutional and Educational Use
Glór may be used by institutions such as schools, universities, training providers, and other organisations. When Glór is used in an institutional context:
The educator, trainer, or institutional representative acts as the event host and primary operator of the service.
Glór provides the platform on the instruction of the host. The host determines which features are used, what questions are asked, and whether open-text responses are enabled.
Participants may include minors who are under the supervision of the institution. Glór does not require participants to create accounts, provide email addresses, or identify themselves.
The institution is responsible for obtaining any parental or guardian consent required by applicable law before directing minors to participate.
Hosts should configure events appropriately for their audience — for example, by enabling the anonymous participation option and avoiding poll types that request personal information.
4. Accounts
Presenter accounts require a valid email address.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
One person per account. Sharing credentials is not permitted.
You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed annually via Stripe.
Prices are listed in EUR. VAT is applied where required by law.
EU businesses may add a VAT number at checkout for reverse charge purposes.
Subscription tiers and their associated features and limits are as shown on our pricing page. We may update tiers, limits, and pricing from time to time.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Downgrading or cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
6. Free Plan
Glór offers a genuinely free plan with no credit card required. The free plan is subject to session, feature, and participant limits as shown on our pricing page. We reserve the right to modify the free plan’s limits at any time.
7. Refund Policy
In accordance with EU consumer protection law, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase during which you may request a full refund.
Refund eligibility is void if, during those 14 days, you have run a live event with 3 or more distinct participants. This threshold indicates meaningful use of the service.
To request a refund, contact us at support@glor.online within the 14-day period.
8. Acceptable Use and Fair Use
You agree to use Glór only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following are prohibited:
Harassment, hate speech, or illegal content in polls, Q&A, or events
Spam or unsolicited bulk communications via the platform
Security attacks, including vulnerability scanning, DDoS, injection, or privilege escalation
Impersonation of other users or Glór staff
Automated or bot participants — participants must be real humans
Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits
Scraping, automated data extraction, or reverse engineering of the platform
Using polls or Q&A features to collect personal data (names, emails, phone numbers, etc.) from participants beyond what the platform naturally captures — this applies with particular importance when participants may include minors
Any conduct that targets, exploits, or is harmful to minors
Reselling, sublicensing, or white-labelling access to the service
Placing unreasonable load on the platform infrastructure
We reserve the right to throttle, rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.
9. Content Ownership
Presenters retain ownership of the content they create (polls, questions, event configurations).
By using the service, you grant Glór a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.
Participant responses (poll votes, Q&A questions, upvotes) belong to the event presenter.
This licence terminates when you delete your content or account.
10. Intellectual Property
The Glór name, brand, logo, software, and visual design are the property of Glór Participation Software Limited. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
11. Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but Glór is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not offer a Service Level Agreement (SLA), particularly on the free plan. We may perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Irish and EU law:
Glór is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the total fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for matters that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account Settings. This is permanent and irreversible.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity.
On termination, your data is handled in accordance with the data retention section of our Privacy Policy.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Limitation of Liability, Intellectual Property, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
15. Document Precedence
In the event of any conflict between these Terms and any other Glór document — including the Privacy Policy, FAQ, blog posts, or marketing materials — these Terms shall prevail.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days’ notice to registered users by email (once our email notification system is operational). If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may delete your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
